| Active ingredient: Cefoperazone as cefoperazone sodium sterile – 1 g International Nonproprietary Name – Cefoperazone Bactericidal action of Cefobocid is due to inhibition of the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. Cefobocid is active in vitro against relatively large range of clinically significant microorganisms. At the same time it is resistant to many β-lactamas. Microorganisms susceptible to Cefobocid: Staphylococcus aureus (strains producing and non-producing penicillinase), Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus pneumoniae (previously - Diplococcus pneumoniae), Streptococcus pyogenes (A β- haemolytic streptococcus), Streptococcus agalactiae (B β - haemolytic streptococcus), many strains of Streptococcus faecalis (enterococcus) and other strains of β - haemolytic streptococcus. Gram-negative microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Citrobacter spp., Haemophilus influenzae (strains producing and non-producing β -lactamas), Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, Morganella morganii (previously - Proteus morganii), Providencia rettgeri (previously - Proteus rettgeri), Providencià spp., Serratia spp. (including S. Marcescens), Salmonella spp. and Shigella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa and some other Pseudomonas. Some strains of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, Neisseria gonorrhoeae (strains producing and non-producing β-lactamas), Neisseria meningitidis, Bordetella pertussis, Yersinia enterocolitica. Anaerobic microorganisms: gram-positive and gram-negative cocci (including Clostridium, Eubacterium and Lactobacillus spp.), gram-negative bacilli (including Fusobacterium spp., many strains of Bacteroides fragilis and other representatives of Bacteroides spp.). INDICATIONS To treat infectious processes caused by microorganisms susceptible to Cefobocid: · infections of upper and lower respiratory tracts; · infections of upper and lower parts of urinary tracts; · peritonitis, cholecystitis, cholangitis and other intra-abdominal infections; · septicemia; · meningitis; · skin and soft tissue infections; · bone and joint infections; · inflammatory diseases of pelvic organs, endometritis, gonorrhoea and other infections of genital tracts. It is also used for prophylaxis of postoperative complications in abdominal, gynaecological, cardiovascular and orthopaedic surgery. DOSAGE FORM: powder for solution for injection 1 g in vials, 5 vials in cassette and case.
